This course introduces students to the world of geometry through logic, reasoning, and visual problem solving. Students will explore shapes, proofs, constructions, coordinate geometry, and real-world applications. Geometry builds a critical bridge between Algebra and higher-level math by fostering abstract thinking and mathematical communication.

Semester 1:

  • Probability & Decision Making

  • Points, Lines, Planes & Angles

  • Parallel Lines Cut by a Transversal

  • Logic, Reasoning & Geometric Proofs (T-charts, flow, and paragraph)

  • Geometric Constructions (with compass & straightedge)

  • Triangle Congruence & Triangle Relationships

  • Transformational Geometry & Rigid Motions

  • Centers of a Triangle

Semester 2:

  • Proportional Geometry & Similar Triangles

  • Introduction to Trigonometry

  • Properties of Quadrilaterals

  • Circles, Arcs, and Sector Area

  • Coordinate Geometry

  • Conic Sections: Circles & Parabolas

  • Surface Area & Volume of Solids

  • Real-World Applications & Cumulative Review

This is a flipped classroom model:

  • 📹 At Home: Students watch short video lessons and take notes (videos provided).

  • ✏️ In Class: Students apply concepts through guided practice, activities, and group and independent work.

  • 🗂️ Includes: Full-semester printed math binder, guided notes, enrichment, review, and assessments.
